About Me

Hello! My name is Ms. Arens, and I am excited to be exploring science with you. I graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth with a B.S. in Biology. Some of my previous work experiences include working for the Forest Service, The Nature Conservancy, and as a wilderness canoe guide. I decided to go back to school to become an educator when I realized how much I enjoy helping students find their passions and get excited about the world around us. I also love to travel and have lived in several different places around the world. I also enjoy baking and cooking, surfing and playing soccer, and foraging and gardening for food.

If you have any questions for me, please feel free to reach out. I am happy to help! :)

Science Test Thursday! (9/22)

Today (9/21) students will be preparing for their first test on Topic 1 (The Practice of Science). Students are using an online study guide that can give instant feedback as they study for their test. They MAY use their notebooks for the test, so please help remind them that they should double check their notes to be sure they are completed with all of our vocabulary thus far.
If students were absent and missed a day, they can find the slides from class in the designated weekly Schoology folder.

Welcome Back! (9/15)

We have been rocking and rolling in science and are coming upon our first summative assessment. This week, we will be flying paper airplanes as we develop experiments. Next week, we will have our first test on Topic 1. Study Guides will be in the form of Google Forms so that students can practice and get immediate feedback. They will be allowed to use only their notebooks on the assessment. So please help remind them to get their notebooks up to date!
One other reminder that tomorrow (9/16) will be a free dress day with the Dress-Up day as Minnesota Sports Day!
