Mr. Brandon Hunt » About Me

About Me

Hi!

Welcome to 4th Grade!  My name is Brandon Hunt.  I am a entering my second year of teaching!  I am truly excited to be a part of the Athlos family.  I grew up in Orono, MN where I played hockey, soccer, and ran track and field.  I then moved up to Collegeville, MN where I graduated from St. John's University in 2021 with a bachelors degree in Elementary Education and played soccer.  I enjoy spending my spare time coaching soccer, being with friends and family, traveling, and being on the lake.

I am excited to help each student develop during the year.  I believe that every kid has the ability to learn at a high level that is differentiated for the individual.  Be prepared to bring your thinking caps when you step into my classroom!

I can't wait for this year to start and meet all of you!
- Mr. Hunt

Important Recorder Announcement

Dear Parents/Guardians,

In the coming weeks, 4th and 5th grade students will begin learning the recorder! This represents a wonderful opportunity to build musical skills such as note-reading, ensemble playing and music appreciation. Please see below for details on payment, recommended practice time, and cleaning of instruments.

Your student will receive a recorder that is theirs to keep. There will be a $5 fee for recorders. This must be paid online on the Fees page of your Parent Portal account. Please do not send students to school with cash or checks. If your student already owns a recorder in good condition, they will not need to pay the $5 fee. If a student’s recorder becomes lost or too damaged to work correctly, a new one will be issued for an additional $5. Click here for instructions on how to make a payment through your Parent Portal.

I recommend that students keep their recorders and music packets in their backpack so they will always have them at home or at school. To make steady progress, I recommend that students practice for 10 minutes 4 times a week. If you need to sanitize your student's recorder, separate the instrument’s pieces and hand-wash them or wash them in the top rack of the dishwasher without the heated dry cycle.

Please feel free to reach out at [email protected] with any questions!

Thank you,

Mr. Mundinger
