Look at the Week April 29th

Hello first grade families!

Math:

This week we will continue unit nine. In unit nine we will review measurement and learn how to add and subtract two-digit numbers.

Homework:

We will have math homework activity every night.

Language Arts

Reading:

This week we will continue unit nine. In unit nine we are learning about goods and services.

Language and Writing Skills: This week we will learn about preposition words. Words such as; between, during, beyond, up, over & in. We will write complete sentences using preposition words.

Spelling/Phonics:

We will be making and reading /oo/ words.

Spelling words this week are; bookshop, food, stood, room, scooted, good, took, cooked, cool, & soon. The bonus word is moon.

We will take a spelling and reading comprehension assessment on Friday.

Life Science: Last week our pupas became adult butterflies! This week we will plant seeds and learn about the life cycle of a plant.

Social Studies: We will compare and contrast wants and needs.

Homework: Make sure your child is reading and working on sight words for at least twenty minutes each night.

Reading at home:

Please have your student read online on their Razkids account twenty minutes each night!
