Look at the Week November 27th  

Hello first grade families!

Math: This week in math we are focusing on length, measurement, ten more and ten less of a number, and addition fact families.

Homework: We will have math homework activity every night. This is mandatory and will be graded. Please make sure your student is completing their math homework nightly.

Language Arts

Reading:

We will work on identifying who is telling the story in the texts we read.

Writing:

This week we will write a narrative paragraph.

Spelling:

Spelling words this week are; hope, late, hike, make, rule, cute, line, nine, take, & bone.

We will take a spelling assessment on Friday.

Homework: Make sure your child is reading and working on sight words for at least twenty minutes each night.

Social Studies: This week we will complete our geography unit. We will be taking the unit assessment on Monday. We will review learning to read maps and take a reading map assessment on Thursday.

Reminders:

We go outside for recess twice daily, please make sure your child is dressed for the weather.

Students will should come home with a red homework folder daily. This is where their homework and sight words will be kept. Completion of home work is required and graded. Please work on sight words nightly with your student!
