Hello first grade families!
Math: This week we will continue unit eight. In unit eight we will learn more about fractions of shapes. This week we will find and fill in missing numbers on a number grid.
Homework: We will have math homework activity every night.
Language Arts
Reading: This week we will continue unit eight. In unit eight we are researching the sky. We will work on the cause and effect of storms and explore the eclipse.
Language and Writing Skills: This week we will categorize different objects into like and unlike categories. We will write cause and effect sentences.
Spelling/Phonics: We will be making and reading “UR” controlled-R words.
We will take a spelling and reading assessment on Friday.
Homework: Make sure your child is reading and working on sight words for at least twenty minutes each night.
Reading at home: Please have your student read online on their Raz-kids account twenty minutes each night!
