Happy last week of school! I want to thank all my students for the memories and learning that we've shared this school year. You have all grown so much and I am so proud of you! I want to thank all the parents for your support this year and allowing me to be your child's teacher. It has been an amazing year!

Hello Families,
 
I can't believe we only have 7 days of school left!
 
Here is the schedule for the week:
 
Language Arts: We will be reviewing nouns and adjectives. Students will also work on an end of the year review packets.
 
Math: We will be working on our end of the year review packets.
 
Science: We will be making catapults.
 
Social Studies: We will be working on state research projects.

June 2-Book Fair (students may bring money)

Language Arts: We will be finishing up Hero posters and presenting them to the class. We will take the spelling test on Friday.

Here is the schedule for this week:
 
Language Arts: We will finish up reading about different heroes and start a writing project about our own personal heroes. The spelling test will be on Friday.

Language Arts: We will be taking a fiction test on Monday and a Nonfiction test on Tuesday. Then we will be starting our Heroes Unit. Please have your student complete the Hero interview by Monday, May 15.

Here is the schedule for the week:
 
Language Arts: We will be reading the story Hercules' Quest and answer questions about the text. We will have a spelling test on Friday.

-If you and your child would like to attend the Mother/Son Dance or the Father/Daughter dance, permission forms are due by May 5th.

I can't believe we are nearing the end of the school year. I am so proud of all the hard work students have done this year!
 
Here is the schedule for the week:
 
Language Arts: We will focus on writing our own myths this week. Students will write a rough draft and a final draft. We will have a spelling test on Friday.

Reminders:
-We are collecting donations for our May Madness raffle. The theme of our basket is Date Night. Donations can be cash or items that relate to our theme. Items are due by April 27th.
-If you and your child would like to attend the Mother/Son Dance or the Father/Daughter dance, permission forms are due by May 5th.

Hello Families!
 
Here is a look at our week:
 
Language Arts: We will be finishing our myth literature study and start learning about constellations. There will be no spelling this week.
 
Math: We will continue Unit 6 by focusing on angles.
 
Science: We will continue learning about simple machines.
 
Social Studies: We will start Chapter 9, which focuses on the West Region. Students will receive the West Region packet this week so they can start practicing the states and capitals.
 
Reminders:
-Students will take the MCA Math Test this Friday, April 21st. Please make sure your child gets enough rest the night before and comes to school on time!
-There is no school next Monday, April 24th.
-We are collecting donations for our May Madness raffle. The theme of our basket is Date Night. Donations can be cash or items that relate to our theme.

Hello Families!
 
I hope everyone had a wonderful spring break! Here is a look at our week:
 
Language Arts: We will be reviewing what we learned in Unit 4 before spring break. There will be no spelling this week.
 
Math: We will review what we learned before spring break and continue Unit 5 learning about fractions.
 
Social Studies: We will continue reading Chapter 8 about the Southwest states and capitals. Students will not take the states and capitals test until next week due to the MCA test this week.
 
Reminders: 
-Students will take the MCA Reading Test this Thursday, April 6th. Please make sure your child gets enough rest the night before and eats a healthy breakfast!
-There is no school this Friday, April 7th.

Here is look at our week:
 
Language Arts: We will finish up learning about nonfiction text structures and then we will start learning about response to literature with nonfiction texts. Students will take a quiz on the description text structure on Tuesday, a test on response to literature on Friday, and a spelling test on Friday.

-Music Program is this Tuesday, March 21 from 9:00-9:30 AM
-Spring break is from March 27-31
-MCA tests will take place after spring break. Our class will be taking the Reading MCA on Thursday, April 6 and the Math MCA on Friday, April 21.

Language Arts: We will continue learning about nonfiction text structures, specifically, problem and solution and compare and contrast. We will take a quiz on problem and solution on Wednesday and compare and contrast on Friday. We will also have a spelling test on Friday.

Language Arts: We will learn about different types of text structure, including chronological order and cause and effect. We will take a quiz on chronological order on Wednesday. We will also have a spelling test on Thursday.

Language Arts: We will be learning about Author's Purpose this week.
 
Math: We will be finishing up division and starting Unit 5.
 
We will be focusing on MCA Prep in both science and social studies for the rest of the Trimester.
 
Reminders:
The World Culture Fair is tomorrow. Please have students wear red, yellow, or any other outfit that represents China. It will be so much fun to learn about different cultures and share what we've about China!
