About Me

Welcome! This is my third year at Athlos Leadership Academy and I am excited to be teaching third grade this year! We will be working hard on our foundational reading and math skills, working independently, and how to be helpful community members.

When I'm not at school, I enjoy going on walks with my dog Maddie, reading, and baking. Last September, we welcomed our son Benjamin and we are loving watching him grow! I graduated from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD and have worked in a variety of schools over the years. I love teaching and I can't wait to spend the year with you!

MN Sports Day

Reminder: Tomorrow is Minnesota Sports day! Students may wear clothing featuring a Minnesota sports team instead of their uniform tomorrow.

Class Dojo

Our class is using Class Dojo this year to help provide students with instant feedback on how they are doing in class. Students can earn points in various ways throughout the day and they can lose points as well. Please keep in mind that this is only a small part of our day, but it is still something that can help you have a conversation about your child's day with them. The whole class can also earn points if everyone is doing their job and the whole class can lose points if over half of the class is not following our classroom expectations.

Use the link below to see your child's Dojo points:

Forms went home today for picture day.

Picture Day is Sept 21

If you would like to purchase photos, you can do so online or fill out the form and enclose a check. All students will take a fall picture. Athlos uses the pictures for student ID cards and for our yearbook.

Welcome back to school!

A few helpful hints for the first day of school:

Breakfast will be free and served in the cafeteria. If you know your lunch number, you can head straight to the cafeteria. If you don't remember your lunch number, there is a post-it on your desk with it on it.

Every day, students will need to eat breakfast in the cafeteria before coming to class, if they come to class, it will be assumed that they did not want breakfast.

Don't forget your uniform and school supplies!

We like to move in our class, so tennis shoes are recommended.

Third grade is a big year, come ready to learn every day!

Please email me with any questions, let's have a great year!!
