Athlos Families,

The United States Department of Agriculture is allowing schools to provide meals for the 2021-2022 school year through a provision of the National School Lunch Program called the Seamless Summer Option (SSO). A waiver has been issued in order to support access to nutritious meals while minimizing potential exposure to COVID-19. Our school has chosen to use this waiver and operate the SSO which enables us to provide meals free of charge for all students. No application is required to receive this free meal benefit.

However, your child(ren) may qualify for additional benefits such as reduced fees or the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) which is a federal temporary emergency nutrition benefit that is loaded onto electronic cards for families to purchase food. At public schools, your application also helps the school qualify for education funds and discounts.

How to Submit a Meal Application:

#1 - Recommended: Complete the application through your Parent Portal Account by clicking here.

     * Visit the School Meals page on the website or click here for instructions on completing the application via the Parent Portal.

     * Have an account and need login support? Click on the support links on the login screen.

     * Still need assistance? Email [email protected] and someone will be happy to assist you.

     * Families that are new to Athlos Leadership Academy; instructions and account activation codes will be emailed in the coming weeks.

#2 - Download and print the application PDF by clicking here.

#3 - Pick up a copy from the school office or black drop box located at the front of the school building.

2020-21ApplicationforEducationalBenefitsPacket

Dear Students and Families,

Athlos Leadership Academy families are asked to complete the application for free and reduced lunch benefits. Despite meals being free through June 2021, it is still very important that all families fill out an application for meal benefits. Qualifying for educational benefits means a student(s) will continue to have access to free breakfast and lunch, as well as provide critical funding for our school.

Please complete the attached application.

Applications can be returned in the following ways:

  • Schoology - Complete the form digitally using Notability.  Your student’s school iPad has this app and will allow you to write on a pdf.  Please see the attached directions to use Notability to submit the form through Schoology.  If your student is familiar with the app, we are sure he/she can help you as well!  We need a signature for the form to be complete.
  • Fax – 763-315-0601
  • Email – [email protected]
  • Mail - 10100 Noble Parkway North, Brooklyn Park MN 55443
  • Drop Box – located outside of the school building

Applications must be completely filled out, signed, and dated in order to be processed. Feel free to call the front office at 763-777-8942 with any questions or if you need assistance with the form.

Thank you and please let me know if you have any questions!

Distance Learning

Dear Students and Families,

If you are in need to technology support, please email [email protected] for assistance.  Since the school building is currently closed for distance learning, this will be the fastest way to get your questions answered.

For password related questions, please reach out to your student’s homeroom teacher.

Thank you!

Dear Students,

I missed seeing you this week!  Distance learning will be starting on Monday, November, 30.   There will be live lessons via Zoom throughout distance learning for all of your core classes.  Your teachers will continue to post instructional videos as well, in case you cannot make it to a live lesson.  You will continue to use Schoology, Study Island and Big Ideas Math to complete your assigned daily tasks.

Each homeroom will follow their own schedule for live lessons.  A letter was emailed to families this week with this information.  Starting on Monday, November 30, grade-level teachers will also post the live learning schedule on their webpage and on Schoology.  This post will also include information about the daily lesson and the assigned daily task.

As always, please let me know if you need anything or if you have any questions.  I am looking forward to seeing you again soon!
