Week at a Glance Jan. 23rd - 27th

Here is the Week at a Glance for the upcoming week. In Language Arts, we will be finishing close reading. We will then transition into learning figurative language. In Math, we will continue doing Unit 4. Unit 4 is all on multiplication and using the box method. In Science, we will begin our Electrical Unit. We will be learning about electricity and circuits. In Social Studies, we are continuing Chapter 6 which is on the Southeast States and Capitals. Please make sure you are practice your Southeast States and Capitals too. We will be taking the quiz within the next two weeks. We will be doing Spelling Week 12 and take the test on Friday. The words are posted on my last slide.
 
Reminder: Keep bringing in money for the Valentine's Day Fundraiser. If you would like to purchase a flower for a sibling, friend, or a teacher bring in $1.

Week at a Glance Jan. 16th - 20th

Here is the Week at a Glance for this week. In Language Arts, we will be continuing our Unit in Poetry. We are learning how to do close reading while reading poems to gain a further understanding. In Math, we will begin our Unit 4 on Multiplication. In Science, we will be finishing our States of Matter Unit and taking our test this week. In Social Studies, we will take our Unit 5 test and begin Unit 6. We have no Spelling this week since it is a shorter week. 
 
Reminders: We are doing our Valentine's Day fundraiser this year! If you would like to buy a flower for a friend, teacher, family member, etc. please bring $1 to purchase!

Week at a Glance Jan 9th - 13th

Here is the Week at a Glance for this week. We will begin learning about point of view in Language Arts. In Math, we will be finishing up our Unit 3 and take the Unit 3 Assessment on fractions and decimals. In Science, we will continue learning about States of Matter. In Social Studies we will finish Chapter 5 on the North East States and capitals. Please make sure you are continuing to practice this at home. The students will need to know where the Northeast states are on a map and the capital of that state. We have Spelling this week and the words can be found on the last page. 
 
Reminder: We are doing Valentine's Day Fundraiser again this year! If your child is interested in buying a card and a carnations for a friend, teacher, family member, etc please have them bring in $1.

Week at a Glance Jan. 2nd - 6th

Welcome Back 4th Grade!
 
I hope you all had a wonderful winter break. Here is the Week at a Glance for this upcoming week. In Language Arts, we will start the week by doing a New Year's writing activity. We will then transition into Point of View by the end of the week. In Math, we will continue our Unit 3 which focuses on fractions and decimals. We will be reviewing at the end of the week so we will be  ready to take the Assessment next week. In Science, we will continue learning about States of Matter. In Social Studies, we will continue with Chapter 5 which focuses on the Northeast States. We will continue practicing the States and Capitals of the Northeast. Please make sure you are also practicing at home. The students will need to know where the states are on the map and know its capital as well! We have no spelling this week since it is a shorter week.

Week at a Glance December 12th - 16th

Here is the Week at a Glance for this upcoming week. In Language Arts, we will continue reading Tacky and learning on inferences. In Math, we will continue with Unit 3 which we are working on fractions. In Social Studies, we will continue reading Chapter 5 learning about the Northeast. Students will continue memorizing the Northeast States and Capitals. Please make sure you are practicing your States and Capitals flashcards at home. In Science, we will continue learning about States of Matter. We do have Spelling this week and we will take the test on Friday. The words can be found on my last slide.
 
Reminder: This Friday is the Tree Parade!!! Please continue bringing in old decorations, ornament, etc. so we can use it for the parade!

Week at a Glance December 5th - December 9th

Here is the Week at a Glance for this upcoming week. In Language Arts, we will be reviewing for Unit 1 and taking the Unit 1 Assessment. We will also begin Unit 3 later this week. In Math, we will continue with Unit 3 on fractions. We will be starting Science again and beginning our unit in States of Matter. In Social Studies, we will begin Chapter 5. We have Spelling this week and the words are posted on my last slide. On Thursday, December 8th, we will be going on our Field Trip to the Bell Museum!!!
 
Reminder: We are doing the Tree Parade this year and I will begin collecting ornament, winter decorations, etc.

Week at a Glance November 28th - December 2nd

Here is the Week at a Glance for this week! In Math, we will take a quick quiz and continue with our Unit 3. Unit 3 focuses on fractions. In Language Arts, we are wrapping up our Animal Research Posters. Students will be creating a poster on the information they found for their animals and present them to the class! In Social Studies, we will be taking our Chapter 4 Assessment on the Economy. We have no spelling this week since it is a short week. Thursday is the last day of Trimester 1. 
 
Reminder: Our field trip is next Thursday (December 8th).

Week at a Glance November 21st - 25th

Here is the Week at a Glance for this week. In Language Arts, we will be writing our final drafts and editing our Animal Research Project. In Math, we will continue Unit 3 and focusing on fractions. We will continue reading Chapter 4 for Social Studies. We do not have Spelling this week since it is a shorter week. Just a reminder we have Wednesday, Thursday and Friday off. Enjoy your break!
 
Reminders: Please make sure you are wearing your uniform since we are implementing our uniform policy this year! AS we are heading into winter, please make sure you are sending your child with jackets, hats, gloves, boots, and snow pants!

Week at a Glance November 14th - 18th

Here is the Week of a Glance for this week. In Language Arts, we will begin drafting our Animal Research Paper. Students will learn how to write paragraphs, topic sentences, and indentations. In Math, we will Review and take our Unit 2 Assessment. Later in the week we will begin Unit 3. In Social Studies, we will continue reading Chapter 4. We do have spelling this week. The words are posted on my last slide. The spelling test will be on Friday.
 
Reminders: Please make sure your child is wearing their uniforms. Also, make sure your child is dressing for the weather. It is starting to get cold and we do go outside for recess unless it is below zero. Continue to bring in your Field Trip Slips.

Week at a Glance November 7th - 11th

Here is the Week at a Glance for this week. In Language Arts, we will be starting our Animal Research Project. We will be brainstorming what animal we will like to research and then spend the week researching our animal. In Math, we will continue doing Unit 2 and take our Assessment next week. In Social Studies, we will be taking our Chapter 3 Test. The students will be able to use their books to take the test. We have no Spelling this week since it is a shorter week.
 
Reminder: Please make sure you are wearing your uniforms. We are enforcing our uniform policy this year! I did send home our field trip permission slips. Please make sure you are signing those and returning them to school!

Here is the week at a glance for the upcoming week. In Language Arts, we will continue reading Daniel Hale and taking Cornell Notes. In Math, we will be continue with Unit 2. We will have a quick quiz on Friday. In Social Studies, we will continue Chapter 3 and read lesson 3 and lesson 4. We have Spelling this week. Spelling Week 7 words are listed on my last slide of my Week at a Glance. We will take the Spelling Test on Friday. 
 
Reminders: Please make sure your child is wearing their uniform. We are implementing the uniform policy this year. We will be stopping at the Book Fair Tuesday Morning. If your child is interested in buying something there, please send money with them!
 
Conferences are coming up on November 7th. Please make sure you are signing up for a time through Pick A Time.

Week at a Glance Oct. 24th - 28th

Here is the Week at a Glance for this week. In Language Arts, we will begin learning about Non-Fiction Summary and take a Quick Quiz. At the end of the week, we will begin learning about RTL. In Math we will continue Unit 2. We are taking a break from our Science Units and will continue on with our Social Studies. In Social Studies, we will begin chapter 3. We will have our Spelling test on Friday. The words for Spelling Week 6 are listed on my last slide.
 
Reminder: Please make sure your child is wearing their uniform, we are implementing our uniform policy this year. We have fitness everyday, so make sure your child is wearing tennis shoes. Picture Day is on Monday October 24th and Free Dress Day for the students.

Week at a Glance October 17th - 21st

Here is the Week at a Glance for the upcoming week. We continue learning about Non-fiction main idea in Language Arts. In Math we will continue learning in Unit 2. And we will be finishing our Science Unit in Rocks and Minerals by taking our test this week. We will also be taking our Chapter 2 Social Studies Test. We do not have Spelling this week since it is a shorter week. We have no school on Thursday and Friday.
 
Reminder: We are enforcing the uniform policy this year so please make sure your child is wearing their uniform. As it is getting colder, please bring jackets, hats, and gloves! We have fitness everyday so make sure you are wearing your tennis shoes.
 
Tuesday night is BINGO for books!! Hope to see you all there.

Week at a Glance October 10th - 14th

Here is the Week at a Glance for this up coming week. In Language Arts, we will be finishing up our Unit 2 by reviewing and taking the assessment. We will then begin our Unit on Nonfiction at the end of the week. In Math, we will be finishing up our Mini Multiplication Unit and begin Unit 2. In Science, we will be continue learning about Rock and Minerals by learning about the Rock Cycle. In Social Studies, we will be finishing Chapter 2 and begin reviewing for our test. We have spelling this week and the words can be found on my last slide. 
 
Reminder: We are implementing our uniform policy this year. We also have fitness everyday this year. Please make sure your child is wearing tennis shoes! 
 
This Friday (October 14th) is Super Hero Day!! Students can also choose Free Dress Day if they do not want to wear Super Hero Clothing.

In Math, we will be finishing our Unit 1 by taking our Unit 1 Assessment and begin our Mini Unit in Multiplication. In Science, we will be taking our Water Cycle test and begin our Rocks and Minerals Unit. In Social Studies we will continue Chapter 2. We have spelling this week and the words are listed on my last slide. We will take our Spelling Test on Friday. Please make sure you are practicing the words at home.
 
Reminders: We are implementing wearing uniforms this year, so please make sure your child is wearing their uniforms. We also have fitness everyday, please make sure your child is wearing tennis shoes.
