This week will be focusing on the area of 2D figures, and taking the Fastbridge Assessment to collect data on current math levels. 

 

Homework this week will be in the Week 6 Homework Packet. An updated grade report will be sent home on Monday this week. 

 

Monday: Area of Trapezoids and Kites

Tuesday: identify and calculate the area of different quadrilaterals. 

Wednesday: Chapter 1 Quiz 2 on area of quadrilaterals. 

Thursday and Friday: Fastbridge Assessment

This week we will be continuing to cover geometry. We will be working though angles in a polygons, and then area of quadrilaterals. On Monday I will be handing out updated grade reports for students. 

 

Each night they will have homework in their 6th Grade Homework Packet Wee 4 to practice the topics. 

 

Monday: Students will be able to calculate the sum of the interior angles in polygons. 

Tuesday: Calculate the missing angles within a polygon after finding the sum. 

Wednesday: Calculate the area and perimeter of irregular shapes. 

Thursday: Calculate the area of different quadrilaterals. 

Friday: Calculate the area of different quadrilaterals.

This week will begin our Geometry Unit with 2d and 3d shapes. The Homework Packet Week 3 was sent home last Friday (9/12), and his homework in it for each day this week. 

 

Monday: Review angles and introduce angle pair relationships. 

Tuesday: Calculating missing angles by applying angle pair relationships. 

Wednesday: Interior angles in a triangle and applying them to find missing angles. 

Thursday: Calculating missing angles in polygons. 

Friday: Calculating missing angles in polygons.

So excited to welcome all of you back to school this year! This is the weekly post of what will be happening in 6th grade math during the week. 

 

Tuesday (9/2): Welcome back and syllabus. Homework Packet Week 1 will be sent home. 

Wednesday (9/3): completing multistep step word problems by adding and subtracting multidigit numbers. 

Thursday (9/4): complete multi step word problems by multiplying multidigit numbers. 

Friday (9/5): Complete word problems by performing long division and other operations. Homework Packet Week 1 will be collected, and will pass out Homework Packet Week 2.
