Course Description

Language Arts

Students are currently working on:

  • Describing characters, settings, and major events in stories using key details.
  • Asking and answering questions about key details in a text.
  • Using phonics to spell unknown words.
  • Reading and writing high-frequency words.
  • Reading with accuracy and fluency.
  • Writing opinion pieces.

Math

Students are currently working on:

  • Solving addition and subtraction equation and story problems.
  • Telling time to the hour.
  • Counting pennies and dimes.
  • Solving algebraic equations such as  1 +___=10
  • Number sense.

Science

Students are currently working on:

  • Grouping rocks in terms of color, shape, and size.

Social Studies

Students are currently working on:

  • Demonstrating ways good citizens participate in the civic life in their community.
  • Explaining why and when the Pledge of Allegiance is recited.
  • Identifying the president of the United States and explaining that the president is elected by the people.
  • Identifying characteristics of effective rules.
