Students are currently working on:
- Describing characters, settings, and major events in stories using key details.
- Asking and answering questions about key details in a text.
- Using phonics to spell unknown words.
- Reading and writing high-frequency words.
- Reading with accuracy and fluency.
- Writing opinion pieces.
Math
Students are currently working on:
- Solving addition and subtraction equation and story problems.
- Telling time to the hour.
- Counting pennies and dimes.
- Solving algebraic equations such as 1 +___=10
- Number sense.
Science
Students are currently working on:
- Grouping rocks in terms of color, shape, and size.
Social Studies
Students are currently working on:
- Demonstrating ways good citizens participate in the civic life in their community.
- Explaining why and when the Pledge of Allegiance is recited.
- Identifying the president of the United States and explaining that the president is elected by the people.
- Identifying characteristics of effective rules.
