Course Description

Language Arts: Students are reading non-fiction expository text and identifying the elements of the genre. They are using the Organization Trait to write a biography creating a timeline of their life, which will then be turned into a narrative. In spelling, we are learning the various sounds phonemes make within words and syllabication.

Math: Students continue to practice multiplication facts through 12. They are learning and practicing the use of the U.S Customary Units of Measure and the metric system finding area and perimeter.

Science: Students are reviewing the phases of matter while using the measuring systems learned in math to measure matter. Students are also learning the physical and chemical properties of matter.

Social Studies: Students are studying the Oregon Trail and Pioneer life.
