About Me

Hello!
 
My name is Kristy Ford and I am the Elementary Special Education teacher for students Kindergarten through 5th grade. I also assist with the special education Evaluation/Re-Evaluation process for all students K-8th. I love coming to school every day and helping my students reach their full potential. I attended the College of Saint Benedict and majored in Elementary Education K-6 and middle school Math. Then I received my Masters Degree at St. Cloud State University. When I am not in school, I enjoy playing board games, trying out new baking recipes, and spending time with my husband and four children (ages 19, 16, 9 and 6).

3rd-5th eLearning Choice Board 2026

Hello Athlos families, 
In case of inclement weather, Athlos has prepared these E-Learning Choice Boards. This ensures that students have instructional work to complete on school closure days. These choice boards should be kept at home and used on days the school is closed. Additionally, these were sent home on January 13th by the student's classroom teacher.

MCA/MTAS Tests and Wearable Technology

Hello Families,

 I'm writing to make you aware of the policy with respect to cell phones and other technology during MCA testing in the coming weeks:

Per state requirements, students are unable to have access to their cell phones or wearable technology at any time during MCA or MTAS testing or during breaks from MCA or MTAS testing. In the event that a student has access to a cell phone or wearable technology during testing, the student’s test is required to be invalidated, even if the student did not use the device. Wearable technology includes but is not limited to smart watches and fitness trackers.

 On dates when your student is scheduled to take MCA or MTAS assessments, your student will check in their phone and/or device with me on the morning of testing. I will collect the phone/device, put it in a labeled Ziploc bag and keep it in a locked cupboard until the end of testing for the day, at which time I will return the phone/device to your student.

If your child sees Mrs. Ford for small group math, reading or writing services please choose one activity from each subject each day of E-learning. Feel free to take a picture or video and send it to Mrs. Ford, I would love to see your learning!
