Hi everyone! I’m Michelle Schutz and I’m so excited to be the art teacher at Athlos this year! I am passionate about how art makes up our everyday lives in the simplest of ways from the packaging on food, fashion, architecture, our gorgeous Minnesota landscapes and more. The students and I are going to have so much fun this year working on different projects with different mediums and I cannot wait to see their personalities shine through in their creations! I love painting abstract art or textured landscapes in my free time, along with kayaking, taking my 3 year old lab Sonny on walks, and cooking new recipes at home with my husband. We’re fortunate to have our families close by and we love hanging out with them all as much as we can. My favorite way to spend any free time I have is sipping on an iced chai latte, going on a walk by a lake, popping in cute local shops, painting, grabbing some woodfired pizza, and watching a movie at home to end the night. I’m so looking forward to a fun school year ahead with you all!
