Bio

Hi everyone, My name is Kate Montiel, and I am excited to be joining Athlos Leadership Academy as a first grade teacher. 

 

I graduated from Augsburg University with a degree in education, and I'm passionate about creating a classroom where every child feels welcomed, valued, supported, and excited to learn. I love watching students grow in confidence, discover new things, and realize just how capable they are!

 

A little about me outside of the classroom: I'm a proud mom to my two-year-old son, who keeps me on my toes and brings so much joy to my life! When I'm not teaching, you can usually find me hiking, spending time with family, reading, or enjoying the beautiful outdoors. 

 

I've lived in Minnesota my entire life, so Minnesota will always be home!

 

My favorite children's book at the moment:

The Bad Seed by Jory John - I love the message that everyone has the ability to grow, make better choices, and become the best version of themselves. 

 

I'm so excited for this new chapter, and I can't wait for a year filled with learning, laughter, growth, and lots of wonderful memories!
