First Week of School
Welcome to 1st grade!
Ms. Fowell's Room 230
Parent to do List-Complete Immediately
- Send school supplies with student (if you have not yet done so)
- Sign up for our classroom webpage
- Send a healthy snack and gym shoes daily
- Work on sight words and read with your student daily.
- Check your student’s folder for homework (Math homework may take a week or two to begin).
First Week of School:
Math: We will be starting the year by learning our lunch codes, taking a Beginning of the Year math inventory to see where each student is currently at, and reviewing our numbers up to 20. The focus will be to complete simple addition problems as well as identify tens and ones.
ELA: The focus to build student relationships in the classroom. We will be reading books that celebrate their uniqueness and how it makes our class a family. This weeks read aloud books are A Letter from your Teacher, Our Class is a Family, The Name Jar, and Chrysanthemum.
Social Studies: We will be building our classroom community and what it looks like to be a respectful student and friend at school.
