Look at the Week February 26th

Hello first grade families!

Math:

This week we begin unit seven. In unit 7 we will be learning about subtraction strategies and attributes of shapes.

Homework:

We will have math homework activity every night. Homework is mandatory and will be graded. Please make sure your student is completing their math homework nightly.

Language Arts

Reading:

This week we will begin unit seven. In unit seven we will be learning about the past, present and future.

Language and Writing Skills: This week we will write sentences about things that have happen in the past.

Spelling/Phonics:

We will be making and reading long vowel o, oa, ow, & oe, team words. This week spelling words are; old, mold, cold, scold, grow, snow, road, coat, no, & go.

We will take a spelling and reading assessment on Friday.

Homework: Make sure your child is reading and working on sight words for at least twenty minutes each night.

Reading at home:

Please have your student read online on their Razkids account twenty minutes each night!  All students should have a reading log that they are filling in to bring back to school.  Once it is complete, your child can bring it back for a prize from our prize box!!

FRIDAY, March 8th- NO SCHOOL

THURSDAY, March 14th- 1st/2nd grade Music Program

FRIDAY, March 22nd- Hat day

March 25th-29th- SPRING BREAK!
