Hello and welcome to 7th grade United States Studies!
My name is Lindsey Pugh and I grew up in Munster, Indiana (in an area fondly known as “The Region”). I was active in sports throughout high school, playing volleyball and basketball. After high school, I attended Indiana University- Bloomington (GO HOOSIERS!) where I majored in Secondary Education with a concentration in Social Studies. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education in 2010 and then made the move to Minneapolis. I worked as a special education paraprofessional for 3 years with New Visions Academy/Athlos Leadership Academy before becoming a classroom teacher at the beginning of the 2014/15 school year.

In my free time, I enjoy coaching basketball, volleyball, and soccer as well as playing, watching, and attending sporting events. I love all kinds of music and going to concerts. I also enjoy watching movies, trivia, and to read. I love baking and spending time with my family and friends.

Boosterthon Fundraiser

Hello all!
We are starting our Boosterthon fundraiser for the school today! Please go to funrun.com and register your student using school code 984-296. Students were given an information booklet today to bring home to you explaining the program and how it all works! 

Chapter 7-8 Retake

Hello all, 
The Chapter 7-8 Test Retake will be this Friday, November 8. 
 
Today, students were able to make test corrections and redo their notes sheet for the retake. 

Reminders

Planners - please bring in $5.00 for a planner. They are required for all 7th grade students and we use them daily. 
 
Feed My Starving Children - please remember to bring in your field trip form if you have not! We will be leaving on Wednesday at 9:00AM and returning to school at 12:00PM
 
Social Studies Test - Our first test will be Tuesday, November 11!!!
 
Book Fair - The book fair will be starting soon. Please have your student ask their homeroom teacher when they will be attending. 
Pugh Homeroom will be going to the book fair on Tuesday, November 5!

6-8th Grade Conference Letter

Hello all, 
Conferences are Monday! This letter contains all of the important information about middle school conferences including: start and end times, lunch and dinner times, and how conferences will run. Please let us know if you have any questions! We are looking forward to meeting with you.

Planners: There are still a few students who need planners. Please bring in $5.00 to purchase a planner as soon as possible. 
 
Bingo for Books Family Night: Tuesday, October 22. Families are invited to attend our Bingo for Books family night. This event will start at 5:30PM and last until 7:00PM. This is a free event, but water and popcorn can be purchased for $1.00 each. Cookies are 2 for $1.00.
 
Permission slip: Feed My Starving Children permission slip is due Wednesday the 23rd. 
 
Unity Day - Wednesday 10/23. Students are invited to wear orange under their uniform and orange accessories with their uniform on Wednesday for Unity Day celebrating anti-bullying campaigns and kindness. 
 
Super Hero Day - Friday 10/25. This is a free dress day for all students. Students may dress as their favorite superhero too! 

Feed My Starving Children Permission Slip

On Wednesday, October 30th, the 7th graders will be going to Feed My Starving Children for a service project. This is a no cost field trip. We will leave Athlos, by bus, at 9:00 and be back to school at 12:00. 
The permission slip went home on the 9th and is due Wednesday October 23.

ABCs of the Constitution Project
The projects I have graded have been wonderful! This is just a reminder for any students who have not turned the project in yet, this is a summative assignment! Please make sure you get this in to me, it was due on 10/3.

Family Picnic
The family picnic is on Tuesday. If you did not turn in a permission slip you can still attend, you will just need to bring your own lunch! Looking forward to seeing some of you there! 
 
Crazy Hair Day!
Our first spirit day is this Friday! It is Crazy Hair Day and a free dress day for ALL students! You do not need to have crazy hair to have the free dress day. If you are going to use spray hair dye, please do so at home before school and leave the spray bottle there. If it is at school it will be confiscated!

Picture Day
Picture day is this Friday, September 20.
-It will be a free dress day for all students. 
-All students will have their picture taken on this day.
-If you would like to purchase pictures, please remember to send the picture form with your student on, or before, Friday. 
 
Family Picnic
Sign up sheets for the Family Picnic went home in the Wednesday Communication Folder. If you would like to attend the family picnic on the 24th, please send the form back with yours student and I will turn them in to the office.
