Description
This year in art, your student will be exploring everything art related. Our art adventures will include diving into the elements and principles of design; exploring multicultural perspectives movements and styles;  and discovering a variety of mediums. Our goal is to create an all-inclusive art environment as we focus on developing our own personal passion for artistic creation.

Hundertwasser Paintings: Pre K- K
 
• I will learn about ARTIST FRIEDENSREICH HUNDERTWASSER and how he used
nature as inspiration for his art.

CONCENTRIC CIRCLES inspired by nature using crayons.
•I will learn about WATERCOLOR RESIST so I CAN create a wash over my oil pastel

Installation Piece: For DOT DAY (September 15th) The entire school will be creating a dot, we will discuss how everyone is an artist and how we can make a positive mark on the world.  Students will be watching "The Dot"  and then creating their own dot, we will create a dot mural in the hallway with everyone's unique mark. 
 
I will be able to identify primary, secondary, cool, warm, complementary and analogous colors.
I can create original artwork to create a collaborative mural. 
I understand the difference between public art and graffiti.

Line, Color & Pattern: This lesson is a wonderful opportunity to introduce PreK and Kinders to the building blocks of art making: line and color.
 
PRE K & K: 
• Today I will learn about LINE. 
• Today I will learn about COLOR, so that I CAN paint my artwork by experimenting with
PAINT and adding CONTRAST.
• Today I will learn about PATTERN, so that I CAN create artwork that includes many REPEATING
LINES such as zig-zag, straight, curved, wavy, bubbles and swirls.
• Today I will learn about Aboriginal Art and the advancements that have been made with art supplies over time.
