Good Afternoon Parents,
 
Tomorrow morning we will be celebrating the hard work the students put in to prepare for the MCA's and how hard they worked on them.  We will be watching a movie tomorrow, so if your student would like to bring a blanket, they are more than welcome to.  Tomorrow is also Field Day which is a free dress day!

Field Day - Friday, May 26th.  It will be a free dress day for all students!
 
Walk in the Park - We will be taking a walk to the park on Wednesday, May 24th.

Good Evening, this is our plan for the week!
 
In Language Arts we will be finishing up our hero unit and start working with nouns.  We will be having our last spelling test on Friday for the year!  The words will be listed below.
 
In Math we will finish Unit 8 and test on Friday.
 
In Social Studies, we will have our 50 States and Capitals test on Wednesday.
 
In Science we will begin engineering catapults.

Week at a Glance 5.15-5.19

Good Afternoon, this is our plan for the week:
 
Tomorrow, your student should have their hero packet completed and turned in.  I will post a copy to print off if they have lost theirs.  We will have a spelling test on Friday.  The words will be listed below.
 
The mother/son dance will take place on Wednesday 5/17 at 1:45.  It will be free dress day for all students.  Please check in with the front office.
 
The father/daughter dance will take place on Thursday 5/18 at 1:45.  It will be a free dress day for all students.  Please check in with the front office.
 
In Language Arts, we will continue with our hero unit.  The students will be creating presentations about their hero.
 
In Math, we will have our Unit 7 review tomorrow and test Unit 7 on Tuesday.  We will then begin Unit 8.
 
In Social Studies, the students will begin researching and creating a presentation about a state they chose.  Please be sure they are studying all 50 states and capitals.
 
In Science, we are continuing with our engineering unit.  A green sheet with needed supplies for our experiments was sent home with your student.  Any donations are much appreciated.

In Language Arts, we will begin our Heroes Unit. I have sent home a packet regarding our Heroes Project. Please make sure your student is turning those questions to me by Monday, May 15th.
 
For Math, we will continue Unit 7 which focuses on fractions and multiplication. We will take some quizzes to check for understanding this week.
 
In Science, we will continue with our Engineering Project and begin focusing on building huts.
 
In Social Studies, we will focus on all 50 States and Capitals. Students will be focusing on one state and creating a project! We will be having a test in about 2 weeks!

May 5th is the final day to turn in forms for the Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dance.
 
Talent Show forms are due May 3rd.

In Language Arts, student's will present their constellation to the class.  We will then start our Hercules' Quest and review on Friday.
 
In Math, we will test for Unit 6 tomorrow and Tuesday.  We will then begin Unit 7.
 
In Science, we will finish our cars and then test for our Engineering Unit on Wednesday.
 
In Social Studies, we will review and test on the West region of the U.S. We will also test for states and capitals in the West.

In Language Arts, we are finishing our myth literature study and starting to learn about constellations.
 
For Math, we are continuing Unit 6. Students will focus on angles this week.
 
In Science, we will be building our cars.  If you have extra cardboard boxes, bottle caps, or skewers you are able to donate, it would be much appreciated!
 
We are starting Chapter 9 in Social Studies. Your students will get the practice flashcards for the West States and Capitals this week. 
 
Our Math MCA is on Wednesday (4/19)! Please make sure your child is at school on time, we will be starting to test around 8am. It is important that your child will eat a good breakfast and a good night sleep the night before!

May Madness Raffle - we still need donations for our raffle basket! Our theme is Date Night! Donations can be items that relate to our theme or can be cash donations. The last day to send in donations is April 27th

May Madness

Happy Sunday!  I wanted to let you know that we only have a few more weeks for donations for our May Madness basket.  Our basket theme is Date Night.  IF you are able/willing to donate any items that follow the theme, it would be much appreciated!  We are also accepting cash donations.  The last day to bring in items is April 27th.

Week at a Glance 4.2-4.6

Happy Sunday!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Spring Break!  Here is what we are doing this week:
 
We are taking our Reading MCA on Wednesday, April 5th.  Please try to be  sure your kiddo gets plenty of sleep the night before!  We will not be doing any tests this week, but will continue doing our work.
 
Friday, April 7th, we do not have school.
 
In Language Arts, we will be reviewing Unit 4 all week.
 
In Math, we will review what we have learned so far in Unit 5.  We will also look at symmetrical shapes and multi-step word problems.
 
In Science, we will begin our engineering unit.
 
In Social Studies, we will continue looking at the Southwest.
