News and Announcements

Message from Principal Geraghty

Dear Athlos Families,

In light of the situation in Brooklyn Center and Brooklyn Park, we are making in-person learning optional today.

Families are welcome to keep their students’ home and participate in distance learning. Buses are attempting to pick up students, but are running in to challenge. Please be patient as they complete morning routes.

School staff are available if families need any assistance. You can contact me at

Pandemic-EBT Benefits for Families

YOU MAY QUALIFY FOR Pandemic -Electronic – Benefit – Transfer (P-EBT)

Students who qualify for free or reduced-price meals may be eligible for Pandemic-Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) to purchase food for days they are not in the school building.

The Minnesota Department of Human Services will begin mailing P-EBT cards in late March to eligible families that are approved by February 28, 2021. Benefits may be retroactive to September 2020, depending on when eligibility for free or reduced - price meals is determined.

To be considered, households must apply immediately for free or reduced-price meals for the 2020-2021 school year or be approved for Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.

Families who received P-EBT benefits last year are not automatically eligible; eligibility is based on the current school year.

To apply for free/reduced price meals visit the School Meals tab on the school website or call the school front office at 763-777-8942 to request a form.

COVID-19 Vaccine Connector Information

The State of Minnesota has announced the launch of the Minnesota COVID-19 Vaccine Connector, which is a tool that helps Minnesotans find out when, where and how to get their COVID-19 vaccine.

This system is a proactive way for all Minnesotans to indicate their interest in receiving a vaccine, so that when they become eligible, they can be alerted and connected to resources to schedule a vaccine appointment.

Attached is some information about the Vaccine Connector that you may find helpful.
