A bit about me!

I am the 8th-grade Earth Science teacher. I'm from the area and am excited to be teaching so close to home! I graduated from Winona State for teaching and am happy to share my love for Science with the students I have.

Science Test 9/16

Hi Athlos Families,

 

I will be having a Science test tomorrow. All students do know about this. I have posted my notes for them in case they missed anything, but will have them attached here. Also I will be providing them with my study materials on Google Classroom as well as in this email.

If you would like as well. I am going to provide the slide show we use here in sixth grade that shows what homework is posted. We update this daily, so if you would like to check in this is where it would be. The red box means the assignment was already due and will turn into a zero if not turned in within the 5 day window.

The Hydropshere Review

Hi Athlos Families,

 

I am sending home a review today with your students. I will have it attached here. I'm asking for it to be done for class tomorrow. They were given work time today on it, but whatever they did not finish is then homework. I have given everyone a copy of the textbook as well, but if they do not have it, I have a copy of it posted on my Google Classroom page. Your student should have their login information to access this. If they can't, please reach out; I can send you a copy. We will be having a test on this information this Wednesday. We will be reviewing tomorrow.

Lab Safety Contract

Hi Athlos Families,
 
I have assigned a Lab Safety Contract to your students today. I am asking that they bring it back to me by next Tuesday at the latest.
 
I have also assigned some reading in their textbook. They are to read pages 25 - 26 by tomorrow.

First week!

Hello, Athlos Families!
 
It was a great first day. We reviewed expectations today in Science. I will be assigning two assignments. One is a form that students are expected to read through with you at home and sign. The other is a small reading packet that we are going to start in class. Whatever they don't finish will be homework. 
 
If we have time, I will also be assigning some textbook reading with questions so we can officially get our start learning about the Earth!
