Bio

My name is Sam Gasparini, and I go by Mrs. G! This is my 10th year teaching, and kindergarten truly is my favorite age to teach. I love seeing students grow throughout the year; engage in play with their friends; and challenge themselves. My favorite part of teaching is seeing a student light up when they realize they learned something new!

When not at school, I spend time with my family. I am married with two children; my daughter is 4, and my son is 2. We also have a dog, Jo Jo.

Email is the best and quickest way to get ahold of me, and I am not easily able to answer my phone throughout the day. I do my best to send out reminder emails about spirit days, or other events, but you will receive a weekly newsletter on Mondays with what we are learning and important dates coming up within the month ahead.

Last newsletter from me for a while! My last day will be WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 8th. I will help transition the students to their new classrooms that afternoon, in hopes that they'll get some time in with their new teacher before a full day with them on Thursday.

I will miss you all on my leave, but you are in good hands with the rest of the kindergarten team!

Please keep an eye out for an email with the classroom teacher information that your student will be moving into come my maternity leave. My anticipated leave date is THIS FRIDAY NOV 3rd (But will be around the following week if baby decides not to show).

Wow that first month of school flew by fast! I hope your student has been enjoying themselves as much as I've enjoyed them in class so far. We really have a great group!

Newsletter 9/18

Here's to another week! The students have been settling in, and it's fun watching their friendships grow. We start our social studies lessons this week, focusing on rules, laws, and cooperation. We'll be continuing our number and letters. PICTURE DAY THURSDAY. Can be out of uniform for that day.

FINAL WEEK 6/5

I cannot believe we made it through another school year! I am so proud of all that the students have accomplished, and each one of them has impacted my teaching.

I am so grateful to have known your students, and cannot wait to see where they go!

Let the countdown begin! This is our last full week of school!

Next week we are off Monday May 29th for Memorial day, and the last day of school is Thursday June 8th.

This week we are working on:

Reading: root words, sharing what we learned about an animal of our choosing (from our animal report)

Math: unit 8 test (on arrays and shapes), starting unit 9 on equal parts

Science: planting seeds, animal needs

FIELD DAY TOMORROW: it is free dress day (Dress according to weather, and there will be a lot of running/movement), and please bring a water bottle (preferably labeled in case it gets misplaced).

There are NO SPELLING WORD THIS WEEK. I will try to send an updated list of your child's sight words list by Friday, so you can practice over break.
